Pala Lago At Cultus Lake

As someone who works virtually, I’m always on the lookout for trendy establishments that offer free wireless access. Yesterday I was hanging out with a few of my friends from Vancouver, and we decided to head up to Cultus Lake for a few drinks at a pub across from the waterslides.

The establishment is called Pala Lago, and it’s truly a little gem (I just found their website too, and it’s actually fairly modern). Without a doubt, it has one of the nicest patios of any restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. I sure hope they pull out the heaters in the winter, as it’s really some place I’d love to come to year round.

Pala Lago

Back when I was a kid it was a little ice-cream/french fry place, but apparently it’s been renovated. In the summer evenings they offer a BBQ meal fresh from the patio BBQ, including a rib-eye steak, seasonal corn, and all you can eat garden potatoes and salad. In addition, they offer free wireless access, which means guys like me can hang out all day and work while enjoying the ambiance of the patio and the music.

If you have been to this place, I highly recommend it. I’m going to have to figure out who owns it and say hi, because I’m really loving what they’ve done with the place.

It used to be called Kel-Ernies and it was demolished back in February 2007.

Pala Logo used to be insanely expensive and not all that great, but by the looks of their menu, things have changed! I drive by it twice a day since I live at Cultus… I guess I should probably stop by. :)
